Nashville, Tennessee USA, January 4, 2020 -- Qualisys, the world leader in sports performance motion capture technology, presents its cutting-edge Baseball Analysis Module at the 76th annual American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) trade show.

Pitching is a high-stress ballistic movement that calls upon the athlete on the mound to repeat multiple complex motions at speeds faster than the naked eye can follow. This is where the Qualisys motion capture technology enters the game.

The Qualisys Baseball Module creates a precise three-dimensional model of the pitcher’s body in action. This allows coaches to slow the process down and show their players the specific details of their throwing motion.

“From the time the foot lands you have a tenth of a second to release the ball, you cannot see this with the naked eye, you cannot evaluate a pitcher with high speed cameras,” mentions Brandon Young Founder of BYoung Physical Therapy and avid Qualisys User. “You can't see triplanar motion with 2D. For a biomechanical instructor to analyze it, you need the best equipment that can capture that motion and give you all the data, to avoid future injury and then throw harder."

Everything from stride length to shoulder rotation velocity is presented in visual, web-based reports that enable both the coach and athlete to get the most velocity, accuracy, and consistency out of every pitch in their arsenal.

The lefty- and righty-friendly Baseball Module is used by experts in the field of baseball-specific biomechanics to enhance player performance, to highlight prospective injury risks, and as a post-surgical rehabilitation aide for all-to-common joint and ligament injuries such as Tommy John. This system allows users to perform a fully comprehensive and accurate baseball assessment that translates to higher performance on the field and a greater return on investment.

At this years’ ABCA, coaches, physical therapists, and baseball organizations, from Little League to the Bigs, are able to explore the full range of functionalities that the Qualisys system brings to the table and see firsthand how the game-changing Qualisys Baseball-Analysis Module will help their players and clients improve on the mound when it matters most.
