Qualisys appoints Ingemar Pettersson as new CEO

Ingemar Pettersson replaces Fredrik Muller, who will take up a position on the Board and continue to provide strategic advice and direction.

Gothenburg, 1st March 2021 - Qualisys, the leading provider of precision motion capture technology, today announced the appointment of Ingemar Pettersson as Chief Executive Officer. Former CEO Fredrik Muller will continue his long career with the company by joining the Qualisys Board.

Ingemar joined Qualisys as Sales Director in 2015 after more than a decade in the automotive industry working for companies such as Ford Motor Company and Peugeot Sweden. In 2018, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, and President of Qualisys North America Inc. 

In partnership, Fredrik, Ingemar and their colleagues have overseen the biggest growth in the company’s 30 year history. Revenue has doubled in the last five years, while staff numbers have also increased by almost double in the same period.

Fredrik has been with Qualisys for more than 20 years, including two periods as CEO. He has seen the company thrive since Ingemar’s arrival and strongly feels now is the right time to make this change.

“It is a move we have been discussing for some time,” he said. “We have always known Ingemar is the right person to lead Qualisys forward from an operational point of view. The work he has done to develop our business globally has been outstanding and perfectly demonstrated his leadership capabilities. I am delighted to be able to take a more strategic position, knowing that the company is in excellent hands.” 

Qualisys has made great progress despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, the company launched the new Arqus range - the most accurate and powerful motion capture camera platform in the world. Arqus has confirmed Qualisys’ position as leaders in the field of motion capture technology, and Ingemar is confident this success is due to the strong relationships and knowledge that exist throughout the organization.

There have undoubtedly been some tough times for everyone over the last years, but through great teamwork, we have been able to continue building, and have emerged stronger than ever. Fredrik’s move to the Qualisys Board is part of a long-term plan to make the business more strategic and accelerate growth even further.
